Recognizing that a major component in transportation are the drivers themselves, substantial consideration is given to the selection of our drivers. The current Wake County School Transportation prerequisite testing (physical examination & drug screening) along with presentation of driving and criminal records, aid greatly in the selection process.

 Upon completion of the initial screening, all drivers are then selected on the basis of previous experience in the areas of  customer service, care giving and problem solving. References are then thoroughly checked and all drivers are randomly screened for drug and alcohol. The operations manager, oversees all daily operations from the office or while in the field.

Once selected drivers are trained in the following areas:

•  Safety  

•   First Aid

•   Life Operation

•   Defensive Driving ( National Safety Council )

•   Operational Procedures

•   Emergency Procedures

•   Proper Securing of wheel chairs, car seats, harnesses.  

•   Customer Service

•   Preventive maintenance

•   Maintaining daily driving logs
